✿Eyes
Brown, nearly the color of darkened honey; when Aria is awakened, there are flecks of white and incredibly pale blue within them if one looks closely enough, resembling a distant, slow snow flurry.
✿Hair
Golden blonde; usually worn loose, it falls to her waist in length, with three distinct, chin-length sections framing one side of her face, and another two on the other side with the remaining bangs sweeping to the side to be tucked back - Though she isn't above tying it back into a ponytail or braid when needed and carries a ribbon and elastic on her at nearly all times to do so.
When Aria is fully awakened, her hair has faint silvery highlights that seem to lighten the blonde of her hair just a bit, easily missed unless closely looked at in direct sunlight, where they almost seem to sparkle ever so slightly, like snowflakes in the afternoon sun caught up in her hair.
✿Skin
Light peach in shade; her skin is free from most blemishes, aside from a littering of scars. However, her back is marked in the colorful and bright ink of a large, leaping koi tattoo, spanning the vast majority of her back. Done at the age of 16, its colors slowly dim over the years.
Her left ring finger is later added to with another tattoo: A pair of closed wings forming a heart with a single feather make up the band of a 'ring', colored with pink, yellow, and two shades of blue in a watercolor style. Done at 17, the colors fade quickly, but remains just as treasured as her koi.
Underneath the koi tattoo crossing her back is a small littering of pale blue marks faintly resembling scars, focused mainly around her upper back, shoulder blades, and the back of her shoulders. These marks grow in size and more raise themselves to her skin to become visible the more her uses her magic and power, eventually covering the tattoo themselves and forming the outline of a pair of fluffy phoenix wings, and if she continues to use her power, do eventually begin to glow, albeit faintly and similarly to a glowstick in the dark. This, however, requires pushing herself a great deal and is a warning sign so having pushed herself too far, and rest will return the marks to their faint, scar-like version within a day at most of reaching that point.
Only when Aria is awakened do the markings on her back form into full wing form and remain, constantly giving off a faint, almost comforting, glow.
✿Build
Fair and petite, it's fairly easy to tell Sera is smaller than most her age, both in height and weight. She's a bit underweight and looks about as physically strong as she actually is - That is to say, not very. Her health is rather poor and it's noticeable, though she refuses to allow it to stop her.
✿Scars
A large number of her scars are faint and difficult to spot unless really looking for them across her body, but Sera has several far more noticeable scars littering the fronts and tops of her shoulders. Around 18-20 in number if one really takes the time to stop and look at them, very few of them have properly healed; most of her scars are still rather ugly in appearance, resembling valleys and knotted, slightly raised mountain ranges, with several of them close enough together in multiple places to heal into a messy clump of scarring. Bothered by their existence, Sera keeps them hidden from view as much as possible, wanting to avoid the memories of what caused them while also trying to avoid questions and judgemental looks they might fetch her.
After the birth of her son, she becomes more comfortable with her scars, but never completely, and is able to show them off a bit more without worrying about them. Even despite this newfound comfort, they're still a source of bad memories and even impact her ability to move her shoulders and arms, able to cause pain she's long since grown use to, and cares not to dwell on them with anyone who doesn't have her full and complete trust.
Note: These scars do not exist during Halcyon Era.
✿Accessories
Sera wears a single, sterling silver angel wing pendant on a matching delicate chain, and refuses to ever remove it. The back of the wing has both her initials and her husband's carved into it, and is paired with a small, sky blue crystal heart on the same chain. Shortly after having her wing tattoo done, she further covers it with an engagement ring - a small, rosey pink crystal ring in the shape of a flower on a matching colored band.
During Halcyon Era, Aria fairly regularly wore a selection of loosely fitting silver bracelets and snowflake themed necklaces, but has long since lost her desire to wear anything even remotely similar.
✿Attire
Her style of clothing varies between her early life and when she learns to stand on her own; for most of her life, she tends to wear three threadbare and ratty dresses riddled with tears and holes - One in dark pink with long sleeves and skirt, another in softer pink with short sleeves, knee length skirt, and a blue sash around her waist, and a third in pale yellow with a long skirt and short sleeves. All three are paired with a pair of worn and run-down dark brown loafers, and are regularly covered - along with herself - by a large, dark green cloak also loaded in tears, holes, and fraying edges just large enough to provide glimpses of the outfits and woman underneath.
Later on, her wardrobe expands into things more comfortable but still very much modest, and her original three dresses and cloak are retired for good. Instead, her primary outfit becomes that of a blue, corset style top with a pale pink front underneath dark pink lacing, magenta knee length skirt, and a matching magenta cropped jacket, keeping the sleeves rolled up to just above her elbows. Two dark brown belts criss-cross over her hips and match almost knee-high boots in color, with light pink socks coming up to her knees.
During Halcyon Era, Aria often wore white and pale blue robes and lightweight dresses, changing these into something more elaborate and colorful when required to for public appearances and meetings, though regularly kept her clothing loosely fitting in an attempt to avoid the uncomfortable feeling of showing off her form more than she absolutely had to.

✿Weaponry
While Sera's stance on fighting borders on hating it, she carries with her a large knife for the occasions she has absolutely no choice but to do so. Fairly plain in its design, she's carried it with her since she was 13, large enough for her to use as a weapon, yet not so much she can't comfortably hold it or keep it well hidden when not in use, and sturdy enough for her to coat in ice magic for a frozen blade if she truly, desperately needs to. However, due to her desire to talk confrontations down before they grow worse and placing herself in the role of peacekeeper, her knife is usually more of a carried ornament than a weapon, with her instead relying heavily on defensive tactics and keeping her distance over actually unsheathing the blade.
As an older teen and into her adulthood, she steadily learns to use a bow in place of her knife, instead, inspired and initially taught the basics of using by her partner, Zack. Styled to resemble two frozen angel wings with the feathers facing outward, the bow is designed to bend freely as needed while leaving multiple feathers, lined with small blades along their edges, stationary pieces that keep their place as the bow bends on shifting plates, similar to typical plate armor in their workings. This bow is capable of shooting both regular arrows and those made from ice magic, as well as regular arrows coated and tipped in ice, though the use of ice-made arrows are draining on her health for long periods, resulting in more use of regular arrows instead, especially after retiring her knife completely at 20 in favor of her bow.
Although Sera is more than capable of also using a simple short sword with a bit of training, it is a weapon she keeps within her temple to use during Halcyon Era far more than her current lifetimes. However, due to being a novice still with the blade, the frosty, icy weapon is a backup when needed, with her preferring her bow over all.

Incredibly Self-Critical ✿ Insecure in herself and her abilities ✿ Overly Cautious
Naive ✿ Easy To Manipulate ✿ Wears her heart on her sleeve
Driven by her emotions✿Personality
A gentle soul at her core, Sera is a woman who gives her all for those around her, without much hesitation, if any at all. Calm and bright, there's little that seems to phase her at first glance, met nearly every time with a smile. She'll do anything she can to help those around her, and it's always honest and earnest attempts – she'll give the shirt off her back for someone in need without question, keeping a hand outstretched to those who need aid, in any form.Happy and constantly trying to see the bright side of things, she's oftentimes found with a laugh on her lips, all too happy to sit and engage in small talk or crack a few jokes. She loves nothing more than to see others smiling as well, and has a natural, sisterly air to her, taking time out of her day to sit and play with local children and animals if she can, or even just to be a shoulder to lean on for anyone who needs it. Full of advice and tender care, she's all too happy to help others find a path into a brighter future themselves, never once understanding any reason why she shouldn't.Although she presents herself as a trusting person, and is incredibly trustworthy in truth, Sera tends to keep others at arms' length until she can be certain she's able to trust someone - a process that takes time despite being warm and welcoming to all who show her the same. She greatly fears being hurt, or, worse, an innocent being hurt, and keeps her heart largely closed off as much of her trust is earned, slowly. However, once her heart is won over in full, she is one of the most loyal companions one could ask for, going above and beyond for those she calls a friend at any given time. However, Sera isn't without her own ghosts; having grown up under intense abuse and developing PTSD from it among varying other traumas, she's far too aware of the wrongs and darknesses of the world, and seeks to right them - Even more so, she seeks to eliminate them, using one simple method: kindness. She easily empathizes with others and firmly believes in the phrase 'I have suffered, so none else should have to', and is more than willing to take another's hurt and pain onto her shoulders if able. She struggles with the knowledge she can't, however, and will give her all for others even at the cost of herself, refusing to allow her traumas, PTSD, and anxieties to hold her back, instead using her own experiences and suffering to drive her forward and help others in any way she's capable. All are equal and she's determined to prove that and lend a hand to any and all who need it, resulting in an empathetic woman more than willing to jump to another's aid when she sees it.Unfortunately, when it comes to herself, Sera is far less gentle. Unable to grasp she, too, is human and allowed to have wants, desires, and needs after suffering through her traumas, she struggles to accept these are basic human rights she too is allowed - and struggles twice as much with the knowledge she is human, and not the trash she considers herself to be, having heard it enough times in her life that she now fully believes it. At her lowest point, she comes to realize she is but a broken but still dancing marionette kept in a glass box; she is to dance for the will of the world and their mishandling of her has left her porcelain broken and fractured, and the doll herself tired, a mindset that she cannot break free from on her own. She is more than capable of recognizing - and even does see it quite clearly - she is one of the lucky ones even with how little she has and how broken her heart and soul are, and the simple act of having possessions or a permanent roof over her head thus leaves her with strong feelings of guilt she struggles to come to terms and deal with. She will routinely give everything away to those who need it more and leave herself with the bare minimum she needs to survive to both curb this guilt and hopefully help others, and will talk poorly of herself in her inability to understand she, too, is human. Getting her to accept medical aid is also out of the question and she will more than routinely remind she isn't as important as someone else who can use that aid more, outright refusing it for herself if offered, or being upset at receiving it regardless. Being forced to have things when others can't is a surefire way to make her feel intense guilt, and for her to berate herself - Something that is often found in small, spur of the moment jokes or offhanded comments, and is otherwise far more intense in the midst of a breakdown, as Sera further knows - and has been taught most of her life - that complaints are invalid and she should deal with it herself, something she is slowly learning isn't true, and is far more capable of talking about things as an adult than she was as a teenager, especially with motherhood giving her a new view of things. She struggles as well with simple concepts and cannot grasp varying social cues, such as why the world is as it is or the idea of strict social standings; she firmly believes in all being equal, and can't see nor understand the reason for keeping people divided. She is more than aware she doesn't 'fit in' nor how to function like a 'proper adult', having lacked many of the life lessons and experiences of someone with a more traditional upbringing, and her further lack of proper schooling has also left her much like a child thrown into an adults world; she doesn't understand and fights to try, but has developed her own way of understanding instead: That of a 'fairy tale lens'. Though she may be embarrassed at her inability to understand and street smarts don't always get her everywhere, she is capable of applying what she knows - stories she's heard along her travels, experiences in small towns, the fairy tales read to her as a child, etc - and apply them to her life, resulting in using a child's viewpoint to try and understand in more simplistic and easy terms, though she internalizes this with the knowledge few would understand or approve, and tries to appear as mature as possible to others to counter this. However, Sera understands more than enough on how the poor and needy are often looked down upon, and though she cares little for herself and how she's viewed, she cares immensely for others, and especially her loved ones' standing within society, for their sake. She knows being viewed well by their peers leads to good opportunities for them despite not understanding how ti all works, and will put herself on the back burner for them, keeping herself quiet and unseen to avoid damaging their reputations. She cares for others far more than herself, and that is made incredibly clear, very quickly.Although Sera's mentality can easily destroy her if left unchecked, it's capable of being changed with the bonds she makes - And with the aid of those closest to her, is. She slowly stops seeing herself as trash and instead as someone allowed to have wants and desires, and accepts she' more human than marionette, albeit with guilt still intact. In time, her guilt and self-deprevation slows and Sera is more than capable of standing on her own two feet, wanting to improve and and see tomorrow, and see the brighter world she helps to create. She still continues to slip at this point and requires being caught by a loved one or a partner, lest her trauma once more regains control of her, and is incapable of being left on her own for long, extended periods, though she does do rather well regardless and even begins to take better care of her own health, desiring a chance to see the future she's been working for. She does and always will need someone by her side to help counter her and balance her out, but she is more than able to stand on her own at this point.Even so, Sera never truly loses the childlike side of her personality, and over time, it becomes something of a shield, as well as a sign of how close she is to someone. The closer the bond, the more she's able to relax and let her guard down, and when the closest to her one can get, she presents as a woman quite innocent and playful in nature, much like a young cat still learning the ways of the world - The 'true' Sera that lies beneath the guards she puts up as a means to survive the world, calm, playful, and even silly. It's also this side of Sera that tends to adapt the best, and will even take how others view her to form a sort of 'last defense' - A shield around her heart that will present itself when her traumas and fears are triggered rather than her actual heart itself. For her, it has become far easier to present this 'last defense' to those she trusts over laying her heart out on the table and risk shattering into pieces under her inability to handle powerful feelings and trauma, reflecting her nicknames such as 'Kitten' through it as a sign of her closeness and trust in someone. The more exposed and relaxed she appears with someone, the more she trusts them - And the more that trust builds and helps form her ability to face the world. Though she isn't incapable of presenting herself as a mature, adult woman to face her problems with, this 'last defense' is oftentimes the biggest sign to those she loves she needs help.Keen and perceptive, Sera is more than capable of reading others' body language and good at knowing when to close her mouth and avoid certain topics, valuing others' happiness over even her own. There are some lines she refuses to cross and won't talk about things that bother her if it means complaining, something she has a great deal of trouble with due to her trauma, and very much dislikes making others frown, unhappy, or uncomfortable, regularly trying to approach serious topics in gentler ways, or bring them up in a lighthearted manner to lessen the discomfort surrounding them. This includes talk of her past; she won't bring up her life to others unless she trusts them with her life as a whole, and even then won't talk much of the darker sides to it, more than aware of how uncomfortable it would make others to hear. Wanting to keep it as her own personal driving force and a secret, the number of those who know the full truth can be counted on one hand, and even that small number will usually hear the good parts rather than the bad.Although Sera is incapable of hate outside of a select handful of people who have truly and completely deserved it, and just as much dislikes, even borderline hates, fighting and violence for their ability to hurt and ruin lives, she is fiercely determined to set both aside and put herself in the middle of a conflict to protect others. She isn't above stepping between parties if it means a chance to talk them down before things escalate, and if being a pacifist fails and she's given absolutely no choice, then she'll turn to a fight herself, all in the name of calming things before an innocent is hurt, be they in the fight or as a result of it.Despite her traumas and shortcomings, and her need of a physical counter in her loved ones, Sera is a bright and sunny woman who strives to make the world better. Not for her sake, but for others – The world can be better, and she's going to see it happen with a smile and all the kindness in the world!

✿A DreamerSera has one, big dream: To eliminate the world of its pain and suffering and illness, and unite it. She holds a firm belief that all people are equal in every form, and seeks to prove as much to everyone she meets, to make the divides between people smaller until they no longer exist.
However, she's decided to do so through one, simple word: Kindness.
With no home to her name for most of her life, Sera spends most of her teenage years traveling the world, spending small amounts of time in communities, towns, and cities she finds along the way. Driven by her own pain and a deep-seated heartache even she can't properly place, she never hesitates to put herself among people who need a hand and tries to give them the aid they need, oftentimes spending her time among the homeless and poor in hopes of easing some of their struggles before slowly working her way through communities. "I have suffered and therefore nobody else needs to" is a common mentality for Sera, and if it were possible, she'd take the world's pains onto her shoulders in a heartbeat.
She's aware that uniting the world is a difficult task and unlikely to happen in her lifetime, and yet, she refuses to lay her dream down. Even if she can't do it, she wants to at least begin the waves of change - And that is her goal each time she stops, easing heartaches, pains, and hardships the best she can, sparking a change in communities before she's off for her next stop.
Her travels slow as she gets older, finding her settling down with found family and friends all her own, as well as her husband and their children, but her dream never really changes. Having a 'home base' of sorts only gives her a place to call her own and a family, but never stops her drive to change the world - Simply that she no longer travels as much as she once did.
She'd love to eliminate the causes of all pains and make the world better, brighter, and kinder, but even if she can't... She can at least know she's started it.✿Working Hard-She rarely holds down a job in the typical sense of the word, instead volunteering her time more than she does anything else. Though Sera oftentimes calls it a job and does work hard at what she picks up, she never accepts a paycheck; any money or supplies she earns are usually donated to the needy, always under the reminder that she'll be fine without, but they may not be. Unless it's absolutely insisted upon and she's given no choice, she refuses to keep a single 'payment' for herself.
While she lacks the physical strength and energy for it, her favorite kinds of work are oftentimes basic labor - helping to build things, maid jobs, and errand running among her favorites. She's up at dawn to start her day and often running late into the night, and even more often overworking herself in her desire to help.
After the age of 19, Sera's overworking nature slowly evens out and eases considerably due to the desire to be there for her son, Shayan, and a few years later, her twins, Iris and Terra, as well. Instead of taking odd jobs on her own, she and Zack found their own business dedicated to such things as well as mercenary work, cementing them both as a 'go to' for odd jobs, information, and a hired hand for more physical tasks.✿A Network Of Trusted FriendsDespite being disowned and on her own since the age of 11, sleeping in trees and at the edges of towns, Sera's helpful nature and never-ending kindness and patience have made her a welcomed face among many, and even a favorite among some. While this desire to help others and going out of her way to do exactly that has led to many calling her Seraphim and others to nickname her Sakura after the delicate springtime blooms, it's also ensured that, despite her refusal to stay in one place for too long prior to meeting Zack, she has a wide network of friends and aquantinces across the countless places she's been. This network has turned into an 'information network' of sorts over time and has only continued to grow with every new place and person she meets, and has even been added to - her circle has overlapped with her husband's and that of their friends and family, and as an adult, there is rarely a place she can go that this 'network' doesn't reach!
Even so, Sera does not, and has never, seen her circle as simply an information source - To her, they're trusted confidants, and no request or message to reach out comes without inquiring to their life and health as well. She cares deeply for each and every one of them and will always repay their kindness with more in return, earning their trust in return as well and their willingness to pass along information whenever she requests it, as well as look into things for her, just as she would - and does - for them.✿A Heart Born From NatureSera has always held a love for nature, and never sees reason to hide it. The sea is one of her favorite places and she can easily be found sitting beside it all day long if allowed, basking in the breeze off the water, the sounds of the waves, the scent of the beach... She will always suggest a trip to the sea to clear out negative emotions and thoughts if such a thing is possible, and if not? A trip out into the closest garden or forest does just as well, or even a chance to sit and watch the stars on a clear, cloudless night!
Nature also is the provider of one of her favorite good luck charms, and her only collection prior to beginning to change herself: Geodes. Although finding them is an incredibly rare thing and keeps her collection small, they're one of the few things she allows herself for a possession for several years. She's not above taking a hammer to one and breaking pieces off for kids and those who need something physical as a pick me up, either; if they can make her feel better with their sparkle, why shouldn't she share those good feelings?✿A Soul Of Flame And IceAlthough they've long since fallen out of sync in terms of the timing of their rebirths, Sera is incredibly close to her eldest brother Thoma - A man who see his own core as Aelius, the Fire Fenix, sleeping within him... A core that is in truth her twin brother, simply born first in recent lifetimes to make him her elder brother, instead. Despite the slip in the cycle, the two share a single soul of intertwined fire and ice, and regularly cycle their magic and power between them; it is this shared soul that brings them home to one another in every lifetime, and their current one is no exception. The sealing of Aria and Aelius works as it does largely in part to their respective elements and powers evening each other out, keeping on another in check and ensuring their magic doesn't overwhelm them... A horrible fate that has struck in so many lifetimes before, when one has been forced into a life where the other cannot follow.
Their soul is also linked to that of Shikanoin Saiki, a woman who was formerly Aelius's partner and whose own soul shares in his flames a small bit, and to Zack, a former confidant of Aelius's, and Sera's own soulmate.✿Remember The Places That Brought You PeaceSera's tattoos hold a great deal of meaning to her, albeit in different ways, with the largest of them being connected to a very key part of her past: Her koi. Done at the age of 16, it spans the majority of her back and is done in bright, bold colors that have long since begun to fade, but still retains the power to push her forward - All because it's a permenant, physical reminder of the koi pond she found herself beside shortly before choosing to have the tattoo done. While she can't see it herself most of the time, it serves as a reminder to continue moving forward and away from the nightmares that seek to destroy her, to never let herself fall back to that level again, and that the koi that once gave her the power to move forward are still right there at her back, urging her forward and providing a sense of peace.
On the other hand, the wing and feather 'ring' sitting around her left ring finger has faded much faster despite being done at 17, and serves as a reminder to not only spread her wings and fly high, above the pain, but also that she no longer has to do so alone. The 'ring' is something of an engagement ring in her eyes, and represents both a wing for her and one for Zack, ensuring that the two can only fly when together - one of her ultimate source of peace, always beside her. Together, the two tattoos are a physical and visual reminder she can keep moving, no matter how difficult the road ahead her gets to be.✿Dance To The Beat Of The BattlefieldAlthough Sera is more than aware of her physical limitations, her health poor at best and rendering her stuck with varying issues such as dietary limitations, a tendency to get headaches among other aches and pains, lower energy levels than most, a naturally cooler body temperature, and illnesses that linger longer than they should, among other issues, she still puts everything she's learned to good use even where it doesn't seem like it should fit - And nowhere is this more true than on a battlefield. Understanding she is physically weaker than many and that not all battles can be avoided, Sera has a habit of using her love of singing and dancing - The later far more than the former - to her advantage, using the fact she's quite light on her feet to dip, duck, and dodge out of the way of both attacks and opponents, dropping defenses and 'traps' to avoid actually fighting along the way. Even when she chooses to actually fight, she remains quick and dances about the battlefield for an easy shot, and her swordsmanship, on the blue moon occasion she uses it, it just as quick and airy in its style.
A battlefield and a dance floor have few difference between them in Sera's eyes; both require one to be light and smooth in their movements, and force those on them into even quicker thinking - Thinking that comes much easier with a song in her heart.✿Where Did The Stove Go-?Sera is incredible at baking, and honestly loves to do so, creating some of the best tasting baked goods this side of the moon itself! However... Cooking has always been something of an outlier - Even if she manages to measure things out correctly, the end product is rarely edible, and if it is, it never tastes any good. The source of her inability to cook, yet be able to bake so well is never understood nor explained, be it by Sera or anyone around her, and what's worse is that her cooking is often dangerous - Not just to stomachs, but to kitchens, often resulting in her setting something on fire, or, worse, blowing a hole in the wall or a stove up completely, always without trying to. And if she doesn't leave a trail of destruction in her wake... May the gods bless your soul, because you stomach most certainly won't make it through whatever burnt or miscolored, horrible looking creation her cooking has whipped up!
Best to just wait until she's baking to get near the kitchen again whenever she's in there...

✿ Trigger Warnings Heavily Apply. Please see rules. The world is never kind to little girls who have their heads in the clouds.Sera was born shortly after her father hit it big in the lottery, but unlike her three elder siblings, she knew nothing of her parents' love. Corrupted by their newfound wealth and controlled by their greed, her parents quickly withdrew from all four children, and Sera found herself in the care of her elder brothers and sister, instead. In a world where her parents, two people who should have loved and cared for her, instead withheld basic nessecities and treated their children as little more than animals to kick, two of her siblings worked to fill the gaps and remind she – and they – was loved in their place. If nobody would care for her, they decided they would, shielding her from their father's worst and trying to make sure she grew up without much worry. The following years were rough, but to Sera, they were nothing too bad; she had an old, ratty bed to sleep on with her own run-down teddy bear to hug, and despite her eldest brother, Thurston, being largely distant from them, she had Ami and Takeru, the middle siblings, as stand in 'parents'. They were all malnourished and treated like animals to kick, but they did their best – She was taught to read some from materials lying around, hugged and reminded she was loved, and even got a bit of their meals, whenever one came into the room they called home. Clothes were taken care of to make sure her hand-me-downs were as pristine as they could make them, and even though Takeru often seemed to be pessimistic about it, Ami constantly made sure Sera could ask for nothing more. She couldn't understand just why anything was as it was, but, as Ami so often reminded her, she didn't need to, especially at her young age. She had them, and that was all she needed. They even had a break from their father's yelling and the meager 'meals' once a month – with the chance to play 'dress up' came the opportunity for a 'family day', but it wasn't long before the trips out into town and to visit extended family, like her cousin Thomas, nicknamed Thoma, began to unsettle her. They were fun and gave them the only big, decent meal they'd have in a month, as well as time to spend with Thoma, who always brought her comfort and a sense of peace and happiness, but something was wrong... Why was it they were only allowed nice things when they were demanded out for a 'family day', and why was the event always demanded of them? Why did it seem like their parents actually loved them then, but never any other time...?It wasn't until she was nine that the truth finally came out, alongside Ami and Takeru falling ill. Denied treatment under the argument they 'should've been strong enough to avoid it' by their father and stashed away in another room of the house, they admitted all when Sera had slipped in to see them one evening: They'd been protecting her from their father's harshest treatment, making sure she never knew just how bad the rest of them had it. She was young and hadn't deserved any of it, they'd decided – They hadn't either, no, but they could spare her at the very least, and spare her they would... Right up to their passing a few short weeks later, an event that absolutely shattered her.Their words made far too much sense when Sera quickly came to realize that aside from her mother's choice to grieve in private, she was the only one broken by her sibling's loss. Even Thurston, who had been living the same life as they had, did little but follow their father around - And a year later, he, too, was gone as the next to leave, this time for boarding school with the intention of being a doctor, leaving with nothing more than an abrupt goodbye. Just a short while later, even Thoma was gone, Sera hearing claims he'd 'gone missing' from her parents, though a part of her never quite believed it. Left completely on her own without even distant support, it wasn't long before the full brunt of the abuse was leveled on her... And this time, it came paired with physical blows as well as emotional and mental, now that nothing could stop them. With nothing left to protect her and no idea how to handle it, Sera bucked their treatment, fueled by a deep pain that refused to let her sit still. Labeled 'rebellious', her defiance in the face of abuse only served to make things worse on her, the routine 'family days' spread out first to every other month, then every three months, supposedly as punishment. It was a punishment that was fine by her, honestly; she'd come to loathe the days spent out and about, regardless of the fresh air and good food it brought since learning the truth. But even so, it was one of those same 'family day' trips out that brought both Sera and her parents through a poorer part of town one day, and for the first time, it slammed into her hard that despite the dirt-poor treatment she'd been living through, there were still others in the world that had it worse. While she still technically had food and a roof over her head, and clothes, no matter how small and ratty, on her back, those her parents tried to rush her past and looked down their noses at, if they even looked their way at all in the first place, had even less than that, if anything at all from what she could see. The sights she was all but ordered to ignore and avoid looking at struck a chord in her and lingered in her mind, even long after returning home, and left her with a deep-seated ache in her chest - Enough so that come the late night, she packed up her few 'possessions'. As a younger child, Ami, Takeru, and Thoma had given her reasons to smile and taken care of her, making sure the world couldn't tear her down... She wanted to do the same for others, just as they had for her, and hopefully given them at least one easier night, prompting her to sneak out late into the twilight hours, when all else was asleep, to hand deliver what she could to those who clearly needed it more than she.Unfortunately, that kindness would later come back to bite her with the discovery these possessions were missing just a few days after, sparking absolute hatred in her greed-driven and controlled father. By giving anything away like she had, she'd 'wasted his money on trash', a viewpoint that made her snap. Finally breaking her quieter means of rebelling, Sera argued back that they deserved things just the same as he did - But it was far too late. Viewing her retaliation as a 'crime' against him and fueled by both anger and a need to retaliate, she was left with a backahnd to the face and pure and utter disownment, roared at with all the fury of a monster unleashed to get out of his house. By the time the sun had set, Sera, no more than 11 years old, was left on her own with a bag packed with barely enough to survive off of, hastily grabbed in a bid to escape, and quickly took to roaming in both fear and confusion, seeking out where to go next. But for a girl her age, freedom from 'home' was no freedom at all; between her fear and lack of schooling and knowledge of the world, she was but a naive girl who had just managed to learn sleeping in trees was far safer than the ground, and started doing so as much as she could manage, constantly thinking of what she had done to put herself in such a situation. Despite the consequences of her choices, she still found herself of the same mind she'd been in to make them - They had deserved better than the hand they'd been dealt, and even if it had been just for one night, she'd been able to help make that even slightly a reality. Combined with the deep ache still left within what felt like her very soul that people had to live in such conditions, a dream formed: She wanted to help as many as she could, and give them a little bit of the light Ami, Takeru, and Thoma had been for her. It was a big dream, but it was her dream - and it was one that would be difficult to attain for a girl whose naivetey made her an easy target wor the world's darkness... A young girl who, unknowing just how utterly cruel the world could be, found herself tricked and assaulted at the age of 12 as her first true experience with it, left on the side of the road with bloody shoulders in hopes the injuries would ultimately silence her, seen as no more than trash herself. With her wounds infected it was only through the grace of a good samaritain that she survived, though she can't remember their name nor face. The four years that followed proved to be as much of a struggle as the previous 12. Between poor health, another near-deadly illness she barely survived, and being lowered to the level of common trash by many she met, life and the world itself slowly took its toll on her; the deep ache still present continued to grow, and Sera struggled to integrate herself into the various socities of the towns and cities she stopped to rest in. Though she still wanted nothing more than to help others, and continued to travel to attain that goal, stopping to help any who needed it, it was growing far more difficult by the day - How was she to help others... When just being around others tended to leave her drained, no matter how much the vast majority of them could be so kind to her in return? How could she call herself able to help others when she could barely help herself?Though no longer sure of herself, she knew one thing that kept driving her forward: Even if it took everything she had to give and then some, She would help them. Even if it cost her herself. At the tender age of 16, she faced a second assault, this time paired with a kidnapping she ultimately barely managed to escape from a few days later while left alone. With the nightmare of the attack completely and absolutely shattering her, Sera stumbled into a local community garden she remembered seeing during her traveles beforehand, and settled into a quiet corner, laying herself down beside a koi pond full of fish, hoping the peace and quiet would help her recover. Unfortunately, she found herself with little reason to try and do so; her hope was all but gone, the pain and heartache of the life she'd led had broken her completely, and there was little that could get her to even move from the spot she'd chosen for several days, simply watching the koi swim around their pond... Koi that, she soon realized, seemed to be watching her.Slowly, she managed to locate her voice once more, and greeted the fish with a trembling tone that quickly turned into venting her entire life. No matter how much she screamed or cried, the koi seemed to listen, never judging, never turning away from her, even when she found the strength to gently touch the water's surface. Her abuse, her pain, her heartache, her fight, the agony held deep within... Over the course of a week, Sera let everything she'd kept bottled up inside, and eventually, she found herself able to sit up once again and speak to the fish with a semblance of hope back in her heart. For the first time in many months, she could feel her will to live inching its way back. The koi never judged, never questioned, never looked to her like she was the garbage so many had treated her as, even tried to teach her she was... They were confidants, staying close by and almost seeming to support while their beauty helped soothe and comfort a girl who had begun to forget what peace truly felt like. Combined with the quiet beauty of the garden around her, Sera slowly worked her way back from the very edge; if others could find something like this, the support she'd found in koi fish of all things and the garden's soothing nature, the gentleness that came with it all, the opposite of what the world so often faced...By the time she left that garden, it was with her head held high and a new, iron-clad resovle: If the world was going to be cruel and unkind, then she would just have to change it. Nobody else needed to suffer. None should face anything of the sort, especially nothing like what she'd seen and been through, and she would see to it personally the waves of change started with the goal of eliminating it all. The illness, the pain, the suffer, poverty, heartache and hurt... She would destroy the divides in the world and take it all away, uniting the world with the polar opposite of what the divides wanted: Pure, unfiltered kindness. Not long after leaving the garden, Sera put her new resolve and dream to the test; despite still trying to heal and choosing to force herself forward, she set herself to helping a local artist and tattoo artist, put everything else aside to see to it they had all the aid he needed. Once he was back on his feet, he, like so many before him, offered a reward as a thank you; rewards were something she routinely turned down, never seeing a need for them unless they were key to her survival, but this time... This time, she agreed, putting aside her routine of breezing through towns to stay long enough for a tattoo to be requested as her 'reward', with enough time for it to begin to heal. Though only ink, the large, colorful, leaping koi spanning her back only served to strengthen her resolve, a forever reminder to continue holding her head high and move forward, the koi forever behind her with the calm, peaceful support she'd found in that garden, beside the pond, serving as a wall between her and all that had happened in her past.Any time she felt overwhelmed or lost, all she had to do was look over her shoulder - The koi would be there to remind her and keep her from falling back onto the edge. She had a world to shange - She couldn't go back.Though the world has left her broken and run down, struggling to see herself as anything higher than garbage, let alone as anything worthwhile or a tool to spark a wave of change even if it means her end, Sera continues moving forward, traveling from place to place with a burning desire in her heart and soul to help. Somewhere deep down, she feels as if it's her duty to do as much as she can for the world, lending a hand whenever possible for any help she can provide, still refusing compensation of any kind unless absolutely made to accept. The strength held deep within her heart and soul has begun to awaken and make itself known to her - A frozen over yet powerful internal lake, covered in thick ice she can't break through, yet still brings her comfort and further determination to keep moving. She'll be fine on her own, that power reminds; she's made it this far, hasn't she? All she needs is to keep putting one foot infront of the other and keep faith in herself and all she could do, and all would work out in the end!Thankfully, this strength helps this view of her to stick, and over time, even begins to change for the even better with an introduction to a small handful of people, including a bright, familiar puppy of a man she finds wanting beside her for the rest of her days, as well as finding herself back in the company of Thoma - her 'cousin' soon revealed to actually be her older brother, given up by their parents as an infant to their aunt and uncle, and never lost as she'd once believed. Even so, despite the good days and the bad continuing to come her way, the bright moments and the nightmares that continue to haunt and follow her, seeking to tear her apart even still, she knows one thing for absolute certain:She will do it. She will change this world using the strength she holds within, and see to it the divides between all crumble and the world unites like it should have long ago... Even if she can't remember just why she feels like this dream has been with her for longer than she's been alive.

Gentlehearted and kind, Aria has always taken her position on the Fenix Council seriously. As the most powerful and the lead of all ice Fenix, she's earned her place alongside her twin brother, Aelius, the lead of the fire Fenix - But for as long as she can remember, the position has always been... Easygoing, to say the least. While it covered choices aimed at ensuring the survival of the Fenix and their ability to thrive across the lands of Halcyon, as well as overseeing the Cycle of Rebirth the Fenix had created to give those they shode the ability to 'rise up' similarly to their own ability to become ash and rise again, the peace that reigned and the bonds between the varying species of their world meant there was little urgency, and little to worry about. Even bickerings among the Fenix, while still present from time to time, were little an far between, and never over anything serious, ensuring a comfortable and happy life.It was one quiet, late spring day that that peace started to tilt towards something else; though she wasn't sure where they'd come from, she was among the first to encounter humans in their initial appearance one late spring day, a new species that had seemed to just... Appear on the planet's surface with absolutely no warning nor fanfare. Lost, confused, and unsure what to do, Aria was one of those who brought the matter to the Fenix council in favor of helping them, a choice universally accepted - Though not without some hesitation from the others.Humans were new, and something about that concerned many of the Fenix. There was a shadow in their hearts, it was argued, but Aria refused to give it any thought! Even if that shadow existed, did that mean they were to sit back and let these new inhabitants of their world struggle until their end? Though she wasn't a kep pat of the discussion, disliking the bickering it caused, she could see both sides of the argument - But even so, she couldn't sit aside and do nothing, and neither could they.Over time and with gifts of the elements given to them by the Fenix, humans gained their footing and began to prosper, spreading out across Halcyon. Towns and cities slowly built up where they settled, and Halcyon itself seemed to thrive along with them. In return for the kindness of the mythical birds who had helped them survive, the humans built them temples as homes and offered them up to the council, and it wasn't long before the Fenix were seen as gods and worshiped as such, no matter if they took the offer or not. What unsettled many Fenix was just fine for others, and the balance of the world tilted even more as some moved into their temples, trusting those they had given their aid to.For Aria, the changes meant a steady home, but also responsibilities and a position as a leader that she quickly realized she was unprepared for. It had been one thing to have the weight of the Fenix on her shoulders; as a member of the council, her choices were part of a group effort, and ultimately, never made without consensus from all the ice Fenix, as well as the council as a whole, but here... Within the crystalline walls of the Frostlight Temple, she alone was leader. Those living in the temple, surrounding it, and overall looking up to her as 'one of the Fenix who gave us her gifts' treated her as their goddess and a guide, putting a pressure on the Fenix she couldn't quite handle. Seeking help around the temple returned answers of 'whatever you want' and 'we follow your word, Lady Aria', and soon, she ceased seeking help from them, turning to her brother and closest confidants among the Fenix.Over several hundreds of years, the burden of being a leader took its toll. Afraid of guiding her people towards something that could cause them harm or distress, Aria took to slipping away from her temple as often as possible, leaving her work to trusted individuals among the higher ranks of her temple. As much as Aelius did his best to help, indluing giving Aria full access to his own temple, the doubt and fear continued to linger within her; what if she messed up? Humans were still quite young compared to the rest of Halcyon, but they still looked to the Fenix for guidance - A skillset she'd long since decided she'd lacked. Trying to step into the shoes of a leader terrified her more than anything else, and every slight pain that came as a result of her attempts she took to heart; she was terrified of bringing any harm to those she'd promised to help and protect, and to Aria, humans were best to lead humans, so... Why not slip away and let them do just that?Unfortunately, this was not a thought shared by her knights and priests, often seeking her out to bring her back and do the job she was given, yet Aria never settled into the role completely. Worse, the Council had begun to doubt their choices far more than they once had, as well; the tilt that had begun with the Humans' appearance in Halcyon had long since started to speed up, seeing many displaced to make room for their cities and towns, and the planet itself had struggling to keep up with the demands placed on it. The shadow that had once been a concern had grown into something that put many at unease, as well, and several Fenix took the chance to back further away, putting distance between themselves and the humans. Even Aria, fearful of her role as she was, had taken note of shady goings on around the city she 'resided' in, Aurora; something had started to go wrong, and it was difficult to ignore.Slowly, concern and worries began to create divides throughout Halcyon, and the peace and harmony they'd once enjoyed had all but vanished - Though if asked, most would claim nothing had changed. The gradual divides had all but snuck in, hard to notice until it was far too late to fix them, leaving an ache within Aria she wasn't sure what to do with, especially after her closest companion from her brother's temple, Zack, recieved orders from Aelius to stay close to her and the Frostlight temple. Yet no matter where she looked or how much she tried to dig into the divides and shady activity, all she found were dead ends, none willing to talk nor admit to anything odd going on. Even a new name - Venatrix - came and went on the breeze, but information on it seemed to be harder to find than anything else, and Aria retreated to her temple with Zack, deciding that perhaps, she was merely making a mountain out of a molehill.Humans weren't trouble and the shadows were just shadows - Just like she'd argued before. With nothing to stop them or the world's tilt away from peace, it wasn't long before the divides snapped. An attack on the tempke of the Light Fenix caused retaliation, and quickly, Halcyon descended into a bloody war that seemed to have no clear goal aside from a need to gain strength. Rumors spread and quickly became reason to cause harm, and before long, even the Fenix were targets under the mistaken thought the feathers of their wings and full Fenix forms would grant immortality. Temples were raided and burned, Fenix killed on sight...No matter where she looked, the horrors of a war without reason nor goal tore into Aria. Her own temple hadn't been spared; leaving its walls meant certain death, and attacks on it had ensured even staying within wasn't safe, either, the pain and heartache of her followers enough to completely shatter her... But when added to with the reminder she'd failed to lead them in any way that could enable them to fight back, the pain only sunk in deeper. In her fear of failing them, she'd done exactly that - And to a heartbroken Fenix, it felt like their blood lay on her hands. She'd learned how to fight, and held the power of ice and snow to her name, the most powerful of her kind, but... She was but one Fenix, and no matter how much she fought to protect those who took refuge within Frostlight, she couldn't protect them all.Late into one night, Aelius and his head priestess, Saiki, slipped into Frostlight with a plan: If the Fenix were to be hunted to extinction for a power they didn't even have, then they would just have to escape, vanishing into one of the pocket realms that dotted Halcyon until the war's end. Should things get worse, they would enter themselves into the Cycle of Rebirth, and hope that by the time they found themselves in the world anew, everything would once more be calm, and peace could reign again... A plan Aria quickly refused. Doing so meant Aelius would be the one to guard them, unable to join them, and leaving her people was out of the question - yet Aelius argued it was the safer option, and that he would be there. No matter how much Aria argued back, Aelius's stance never changed, coming with frequent promises he would never be far away-But in the end, it was a choice made for them. Their meeting cut short by a raid on Frostlight, Aria barely managed to escape with Zack, forced to look on in horror at the nightmare Halcyon had become in their race towards the pocket realm Aelius had set up. The Venatrix, a name she had once only just heard of, had been the very shadow in human hearts that had started the war, determining themselves as worthy and deserving of more than they had been given... So much so that they were willing to set the world ablaze and run the streets red with blood to attain their goal. No matter how much Zack urged her to not look, she couldn't help it; the Halcyon she'd once known was gone, and she had been powerless to stop it, let alone help those who had looked to her for aid.Aria's escape into the realm came without too much issue, and, along with the other surviving Fenix, she was entered into the Cycle in hopes of returning to a Halcyon where change could be made for the better. Unfortunately, it would not be Halcyon she would return to, but another world entirely; the planet's cry for aid had seen it reset and reborn before those in the cycle could be, ushering them into a world they knew little about... A world where the hunt to harm continued. Desperate to hide herself away and simply to survive, Aria gathered up her magic and slowly, over the course of multiple lifetimes, sealed her power and memories away within her soul much like the other surviving Fenix she could locate after her initial rebirth.Taking on the name of Seraphina for her human disguise, Aria has let her power sleep within, occasionally partially awakening in hopes of finding a world enough like the Halcyon she remembers for the Fenix to make a comeback, the guilt within continuing to thrive despite her inability to remember. But one day... One day the world will once again be safe for all, she's sure of it-Even if she has to make that world a reality, herself.

✿ Although Sera appears as, passes for, and is completely indistinguishable from other humans, having taken a human form herself, she is still Aria, and her core is still that of Aria and all the magic she once held, despite the fact Sera herself is completely unaware of this fact. She is more than aware, however, there is something deep within her, describing it as standing atop a lake frozen over with a thick sheet or solid ice that occasionally bubbles up with little bits of strength and power, and that her survivor's guilt runs far deeper and over more topics than she understands, but this is as deep as her knowledge goes regarding herself.✿ Despite her human form, she is still a Fenix, and the power she is able to use as well as the markings on her back - her former wings, now sealed away the best Aria is able to manage - are dead giveaways. While Sera can't use the full extent of her magic, what she is able to use is a fair bit more powerful than those around her - and in some verses, an ability she holds that most don't in general - and is often a means of telling there is more to Sera than meets the eye, albeit only if one has it in mind already when watching her use her magic.✿Please note: While Sera and Aria are one in the same person, Sera DOES NOT remember her previous lifetimes, and outside of Spellbound verse, Aria is NOT awake. Sera is Sera; she is, for all intents and purpouses, a human and will be treated as such, just one who is slightly stronger than most other humans when pushed to that pont. Even in Spellbound verse, she doesn't remember much about herself, where she comes from, or what she's capable of, as Aria is only half awake; Aria WILL NOT awaken outside of specific circumstances and verses aside from Spellbound, Halcyon, and Somnium Crystallum, and not without heavy, HEAVY plotting between myself and a trusted partner, first. For more information about the Fenix and the story of Halcyon, a temporary page can her found HERE until a writeblr sidblog can be finished with more detailed information.✿ While attributed to her poor physical health and frailty, Sera tends to run a few degreees cooler than most, unaware this is also partly to do with her true self playing a role in things, as well. She doesn't do too well with incredibly warm temperatures, yet also doesn't do any better with frigid, often seeking to wrap herself up in a warm blanket during the winter and park herself in front of a fan of some kind in summer, instead.✿ The bow Sera uses as a primary weapon, Frozen Wings, originally belonged to Aria during Halcyon, and continues to find its way back into her hands in each and every lifetime, connected to her through her magic, re-awakening her abilities as an archer every time despite her need to re-train and re-learn before she can accurately use it every time. She also has some moderate skill with a short, single-hand sword, having been taught by a knight close to her in the Frostlight temple, but these skills continue to remain rusty and sidelined in every lifetime since due to Sera's dislike of the harm bladed weapons can bring. If absolutely needed, she does have it in her to summon back to hand a blade made of frost and ice, but this is a last ditch tactic, and only used when her life is in danger, as her rusty skills result in her funbling through using it.✿ She is trained to defend herself, but Sera struggles to actually do so in a way that harms anyone else. The horrors of battlefields and the thought of people losing their lives, as well as the actual physical battlefield and its aftermath, are a nightmare to her, and if she's not allowed to prepare herself for one ahead of time, can and will be physically ill a short while later, and steadily grow more anxious until an anxiety attack takes control. It isn't until she's in her early 20's that she learns ways to keep her stomach from emptying itself quite as easily, and to counter the horrors of battlefields from triggering an anxiety attack.✿ Sera is very much a peacekeeper, and does her best to talk down conflict and heightened emotions rather than letting them explode. Although she knows some fighting is nessecary, she still heavily dislikes it and sees conflict without a solid, needed reason, like hunting to feed a family, as unneeded and avoidable, and would rather find other outlets for anger and hurt that don't involve unnessecarily harming another. She's also incredibly aware of her own limitations and how unsettling fighting can be, and if she can't stop it or reason it out, and doesn't need to be involved, she'll excuse herself - Partly to avoid the feeling of being uncomfortable and unsettled, partly because she's more than aware she isn't physically capable of being involved, anyway.✿ Sera suffers from PTSD and anxiety along with her trauma, and frequently seeks out ways to counter it. She's aware of most of her triggers - most, there was still new ones that pop up from time to time, or ones that manifest in different ways occasionally - and does her best to avoid them, though if she's unable to, she's always discovering new means to keep herself under control rather than let it run away with her. Carrying a squishy toy on a keychain to knead and squeeze, a pair of headphones and a music player of some kind, programed with playlists made by Thoma and Zack, a small stuffed animal in her bag... Perhaps the two best known tactics to countering her trauma and anxiety, however, are chances to see her loved ones and their knowledge of how to distract and calm her, and the feeling of touch - That is to say, her ability to touch something solid and forcibly ground herself. Rolling the hem of her shirt between her fingers, leaning against a tree, touching her brother and husband, so on and so forth - As long as it's a solid item that won't move until she's ready, it's something she'll lean into to help fight off panic and anxiety in the moment, and touch has become a major tool in helping keep herself grounded.✿ A major part of her PTSD is the inability to have anything tight on her wrists. It doesn't matter if it's a simple bracelet, sleeve of her shirt, a touch - If it's not from Thoma or Zack, she'll quickly break into an intense panic attack and try to rush away to safety. She's gotten better with it over the years and very few are able to put pressure tighter than a loose-fitting bracelet on her wrists, as well as learning how to hold off her panic for a bit, and does even better when allowed to 'psyche herself up' for it, but it's still largely a no-go.✿ When dealing with heavy flares of her PTSD, especially at points she doesn't know how to talk about it, Sera tends to make herself as subserviant as possible, and as small as she possibly can. She'll fall quiet and overwork herself five times as much as normal, rushing to do whatever she can to be seen as 'helpful', regardless of what it is, and will answer "jump" with an actual jump rather than even pausing to ask "how high". When in this state, she fully blames herself for anything that can go wrong and expects to be screamed at, seeing herself as a problem others will want to be rid of, doing all she can to please them and keep them from being angry while dubbing herself a 'bad person'; this is an incredibly delicate mindframe and can easily tip into a heavy and harsh breakdown, though if carefully navigated, does have the ability to be broken and ease her out of it, slowly, even if 'out of it' means sobbing herself to sleep in a loved one's arms.✿ Sera tends to use how others see her as her 'last line of defense', so to speak - That is, it's the final shield she keeps wrapped around her heart and soul to keep the 'nightmares' of her trauma at bay and avoid completely shattering under the weight of it all, formed out of the care and affection her loved ones have shown her, and pieces of how they view her. This shield is often what people see most when she's struggling, and reflects in various ways throughout her personality even when she's not; for example, Zack's nickname of 'Kitten' has brought her to embrace her catlike qualities and the nickname as a whole, playfully 'miao!'ing at trusted loved ones to be silly, while referring to herself a 'kitty' when anxiety sets in, while being nicknamed 'Seraphim' in the past by some of those she'd helped along the way has further resulted in her angel wing theming, and so on. Although Sera is still a mature, adult woman and can and will act like one, she still lacked a childhood and enjoys embracing her more childish side around those who encourage and are comfortable with it, experiencing certain joys she was never allowed until now - But leaning too heavily into this side is also a sign to others she may need help battling her own mind, as well. While playfully meowing at her best friend may be a way to get them to laugh or return a noise out of silliness and curiosity, calling herself a 'bad kitty' is very much unlike her and a sign she needs help before a trigger takes control. Likewise, viewing herself as something like her 'Kitten' nickname helps keep some of her strength intact and has before her biggest aid, helping to keep her from spiraling out of control and fully losing herself to her 'nightmares'.✿ She wasn't often allowed to leave 'her room' as a child, and as such, lacks a concrete understanding of the world that an adult her age should have, leaving her awkward in certain social situations, and struggling to understand, or even catch at all, some social cues that aren't made obvious from the start. This has made her quick to point out when she doesn't understand things rather than struggle and possibly derail a moment, and is even quicker to ask questions in hopes of learning to understand, lest she become a burden on those she's with.✿ Due to how she grew up, Sera hasn't really had any true, proper schooling of any kind, and was taught what little she knows from her siblings Ami and Takeru, as well as those she's met in her travels. However, while she's better at some things than others, Sera struggles to read past a third grade level due to losing them as young as she did and never finding reason to bring it up to others; while she can read basic words and sentences, many resemble a mess of lines at worst, and a cluster of letters she can make out at best, but not understand the word they're trying to make up. The vast majority of the time, given enough time to study the words in front of her, they can and will 'click' into place in her mind, but up to that point, she struggles to actually make them out if they're above her reading level. This changes once she's in her 20's, however; her reading skills have greatly improved with aid from loved ones, though still aren't quite where they should be - She simply won't complain about it, grateful to be improving in the first place, and secretly far too embarassed to be a 20something year old woman who still needs aid in reading from time to time.✿ The books she was originally taught to read with as a child by Ami and Takeru were old fairy tales in very poor condition, and, combined with the stories often told to her by Thoma when they were little, still stick with her as an adult. Occasionally, when she's struggling or confused by something and simply unable to understand, Sera tends to apply a 'fairy tale lens' to her thinking, and applies these old stories as a means of 'filling in the gaps' to help her understand and sort out situations into roles and stories not unlike those she heard as a child. While she understands doing so is silly and won't often share she does such a thing, putting things she's confused by or struggles with into, essentially, its own fairy tale makes them far easier for her to navigate on her own, and she slowly learns by doing so how to navigate things better, needing this method less by the time she's an adult, though isn't above teaching it to her own kids to help them sort through complicated feelings easier, either.✿ Sera doesn't care what others aside from loved ones think of her, but does care a great deal for those she loves and how they're seen by the rest of the world. Knowing that her social standing is incredibly low and that she starts off as some 'ratty-looking kid' from the viewpoint of many others, she developed a poor habit of avoiding being seen in public with those loved ones that are of a higher social standing, recognizing that others' judgement of her will result in their judgment of them changing along with it, and seeking to avoid that outcome. While she's able to learn through them that they want her by their side despite that and that her presence isn't as much trouble as she's assumed it to be, this is a fear she continues to fight through her late teens even as she ceases avoiding social situations - Though occasionally she still hesitates, and needs a tug of her hand to get her back over that hurdle.✿ Sera is largely incapable of hatred, with few known, rare exceptions. The two who harmed her most, her brother Thurston, and her parents are currently the only ones she can name who are on that list, though there isn't a zero percent chance of the list growing the older she gets, and even can include emotions, like her hatred of feeling hate, and belong alone with her fears and trauma, and the trauma itself. However, getting on the list of things and people Sera hates is a difficult task and requires doing something truly, completely deserving of such a thing, and she'll never outright admit to feeling hate without being pushed to, though will admit to deep, heavy, strong negative feelings towards others - Just not actual hatred itself.✿ Due to her childhood and disownment, Sera tries to distance herself from her family name of 'Mayuzumi', and sees Thoma and their lost siblings, Ami and Takeru, as the only redeemable parts of it. Instead, she chooses to see herself as a Fair even before her marriage to Zack, but after their relationship is solid enough for them both to accept her doing as much, and prior to this point will full on claim she doesn't have a last name.✿ Prior to finding a home alongside Zack, she slept mainly high up in trees, and holds a fondness for them when camping even still.

✿Sera has some very heavy details to her background. These details include harrassment, death, abuse (both sexual and child abuse), disownment, severe illness to the point of near death, lack of care for oneself/her own existence, war, loss of all one cares for, and brief suicidal tendencies, among a few other details. She suffers from PTSD and anxiety at minimum as a result of this, and has tried to put the past behind her as of the age of 16, though it still affects her into her late teens and adulthood. I refuse to write Sera younger than 16, nor before she decides to put this past behind her, though the aftermath is still present despite this. Please know that these topics may come up with my primary partners, Knight ( Waltzofphoenix, Forfiveyen, Jackdeck, and Auraguardians) and Kasa (Duelrisen, Yoroiis, Spadechip, Transientblaze, and Honorisen), as their muses are often heavily involved with Sera's life and traumas, But I DO NOT fixate on these topics. Yes, some terrible and horrible things have happened to Sera until she turned 16. Yes, these topics are incredibly heavy - But they are seen as thing that have happened and cannot be changed. Sera herself does not like to fixate on these topics or the past, and instead does her best to come to terms with what's happened and try to understand it and deal with it, and would much rather put a foot forward towards a brighter future than to fixate on them.My partner's muses are incredibly close to Sera and are, more often than not, either aware of what she's been through and choose to involve themselves as her friends and found family, have been involved in her backstory itself or made to be a part of it, or grew up directly beside it, as is the case for Kasa's take on GI's Thoma, who is her biological oldest brother despite not being raised by their parents. These details and talks of her backstory will be heavily featured around their blogs, as well - but only when applicable. They won't come up horribly often and when they do, are oftentimes worded lightly and in roundabout fashions to avoid giving too many details into Sera's traumas, for comfort's sake. However, as these are a heavy driving force behind Sera's entire character and her reactions, motivations, etc., and are occasionally brought up around the people she trusts in her attempts to grow and move on and stand tall on her own, something she's come far in by the time most of my verses are set, please do be aware this backstory is in play and can be mentioned, albeit with as few details on dash as we can get away with to avoid causing any strain or harm to anyone reading. Details we can't omit or roundabout can and usually are placed under a readmore and tagged appropriately for comfort's sake, and I do encourage anyone with triggers or discomfort surrounding these topics to avoid reading posts marked with them. For more information on this, please see my rules. To continue on to Sera's about and information, please use the buttons bellow; the top set pertains to general, overall information, while the bottom set go to the Genshin Impact, Final Fantasy 7, and Spellbound verses, which each have their own abouts, and to my blog itself.
